School of Mechatronics Engineering of Zhongyuan University of Technology (ZUT) has started postgraduate education since 1995, and carried out the joint training of master degree students with Henan Polytechnic University. In 2003, it was granted the right to confer master’s degree in mechanical manufacturing and automation of secondary discipline, which was one of the first five authorization points obtained by our university. In 2005, it was granted the right to confer master's degree in two secondary disciplines: mechanical design and theory and mechatronic engineering. In 2010, it was granted the right to confer a master's degree in mechanical engineering of first level discipline, a master's degree in engineering major in mechanical engineering, and the right to grant a master's degree in vehicle engineering. So far, our school has completed the full coverage of the academic and professional degree-granting rights of the first-level discipline of mechanical engineering. In 2011, our school obtained the right to confer a master's degree in industrial design methods and theory in the first-level discipline of design. The postgraduate education of our school has entered a new stage of development.
Since “the Twelfth Five-Year Plan”, the graduate enrollment scale, quality of students and training quality of our school have made great progress. At present, there are 57 graduate students, including 23 academic graduate students and 34 professional degree graduate students. The school has strengthened the training of young tutors. The number of graduate tutors has reached 25, and the structure of graduate supervisors' academic qualifications and professional titles has been significantly improved. At the same time, the school adopts the guidance mode in the form of tutor group. Young teachers with senior professional titles or doctoral degree winners participate in the practical guidance of postgraduates, which strengthens the degree of rejuvenation and knowledge updating of the tutor team. The school has established graduate engineering practice base with Beijing micro nano Precision Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Textile Machinery Co., Ltd, Zhengzhou YUEBOO Automobile Electric Appliance Co., Ltd., Henan No.2 Textile Machinery Co., Ltd., JIE Holding Group Co.,Ltd., Zhengzhou Yutong Group Co., Ltd., Henan Senyuan Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., Henan Haochang Textile Machinery Co., Ltd., and has more than 10 enterprise graduate supervisors, which can meet the requirements of one-year enterprise practice training for professional degree postgraduates required by the Ministry of education.
The school has actively carried out the innovation and exploration of postgraduate training mode, and has carried out the exploration and practice of 1 + 1 + 1 postgraduate training mode with Beijing micro nano Precision Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Zhengzhou Textile Machinery Co., Ltd. and other enterprises. The engineering practice ability of graduate students has been significantly improved, and the quality of postgraduate training has been highly praised by employers. The exploration and practice of the training mode has been fully affirmed by the Department of education of Henan Province, and this mode has been reported to the Ministry of education as a typical case of postgraduate training mode exploration.
